Lens Wacking

I don’t have a camera yet to play with this, so I can’t show you an example of my own, but if you haven’t heard of “lens wacking” or “freelensing” then you need to Google the terms.

Basically, it is when you detach the lens from your camera, and manually focus by twisting and turning the lens in your hand. It gives pictures that amazing “woozy” look.

You can also do it with video, I suppose it works similarly.

I first heard about this through my new friend Jon, when he explained it on his blog.
I’m thinking about asking him if he would be interested in doing a trash-[my]-dress shoot next summer. AndraĆ© and I decided that we wanted to do an uber-cool photo shoot for our 5th wedding anniversary, God-willing that I can still fit into my wedding dress.

I’m thinking of a “slightly emo fairy princess in the haunted forest” look:

I suppose I need to start planning it…and buying Dr. Parnassus-esque props.
Have you ever done freelensing, or a trash-your-dress shoot?

What would you do?
